As it turns out I'm going to need tires soon and the Tread-wrights are back ordered for a while. In looking around at other options I noticed that it's getting harder and harder to find 15" tires at a decent price and the 16" ones are getting cheaper. So with that in mind I'm looking at getting a set of 16" wheels but need to save some money on them. I'd prefer steel over alloy.

Anyone buy/use the basic black Unique wheels?

What I'd really like are some plain steel 16" wheels off of an old FJ or something but I don't think they exist.

personally when it comes to 15" tires they get picked up pretty quick when looking for used or new. the auto industry has gone to making mostly 17" and up wheels straight from the factory so that is forcing everyone to upgrade to a larger wheel which means more money for tires. you would have to special order through a local tire shop if you want to find the right one. look at the black daytona wheels made by AWC they are plain and to the point. Wheelers who come to les schwab on the west side usually buy those, and they are steel!

i just mounted 16" unique wheels in black and have the cirlces in them.

the reason i got the 16" size is because i mounted my wifes old BFGs onto them.
