Which tire would be better? super swamper 34x9.5x15 or BFG 33x10.5x15
I have a set of stock 15" (maybe 6 or 6.5 wide) toyota wheels that came with my truck. So, I was thinking of getting a set of tires for them which I would use strictly for off road.
I have a set of take off 17" wheels and tires from a 2006 tacoma I'd use for daily driving. I also have a set of those 16" star wheels with some 245/75/16 good year mtr jeep take offs as a spare set.
So which would be better for mud and general off road use the special service TSL sam-14 super swampers or the bfg mud terrain t/a km?
I think the super swamper would be a tougher tire and the tread may be more aggressive, but I'm not 100% sure since I have not seen either in action. I have decided that I do not want a wider than 10.5" wide tire because I don't want to spend another $150 on wheels and I like the look of narrow tires anyway. I do not mind beating the fenders or inner fenders of the truck, but from what I have read the swampers are around 33 or 33.5 diameter and will fit okay with pinch weld mod.
As far as prices they seem to be about the same.
super swampers are $159 at desert rat plus shipping then around $60 to have them mounted and balanced no warranty local.
bfg mud terrains are $168 at sams plus tax and $50 to mount and balance and warranty is local if I ever have a problem.
I'd consider the super swamper ltb's in a 34x10.5x15 but I have heard that the radial doesn't work as well as the bias ply.

I see how much people are using the bfg mt's and I figured they were close in performance to the super swamper tsls.
So, I guess now I am looking at just super swampers for replacement.
34x10.5x15 super swamper ltb
34x9.5x15 super swamper tsl
and while I was searching I saw some nice looking super swamper gound hawg II radials in a 32x11.5x15 (probably too big for the wheels I have) but since they are directional they may be pretty good in mud and a lot of stuff, but maybe not so tuff of sidewalls...

LTB's are the most awesome tire I've ever seen offroad. I have the 34x9.50TSL's and can confirm their traction and toughness! (Boy do they suck on the road though!)
