Rim PSI Rating?

I was in my local Costco today and asked about the price of a set of BFG A/T KOs after giving me the price the guy went on to say that the rims would have to have a 50PSI rating or he would not fit them!

I have never heard of a rim psi rating, can anyone enlighten me on this or have i just totally misunderstood him???

Thanks in advance

G

Rims DO have a limit on how much psi they can tolerate. My aftermarket aluminum rims say 50 or 60psi max on the side of em. I dont think your stock wheels will have any problems with 50psi. The max psi for bfg all terrains is pretty high though.

Thanks for info I'll check my rims tonight, as for using a "real" tire store they are all to expensive costco's all-in price is at least $140 less per set, not a huge amount but I'd still rather have it in my pocket, now if anyone in the Lower mainland (BC,Canada) knows of a better deal then $231(CDN) fitted and balanced I'd love to hear???

Why don't you just pump your tires up to 50 psi, and when the rims don't explode show the idiots at Costco.

And think about a trip to Bellingham, don't forget our dollar is worth the same as the US one now. Costco's US website has BFG A/T KOs at $183 each, installed.
