Going 15x8 - Wanted to confirm BS

I have a 94' SR5, currently wheel is 15x7 they are so beat up that I am going to get steelies. I have chosen to go with Cragar Black D Window wheels. My question is what backspacing should I go with? Summit offers both 4" and 4.75". I have read 4crawlers site and saw his pic where he shows that the stock wheel BS is 4.75", I have also read people having trouble with that and say it's safer to go with a 4" BS.

Currently I have 31x10.5xR15 Treadwrights. When they are worn I will upgrade to 33x12.50xR15, hopefully by this time I would have my LC/BJ lift installed. My truck is used for light mudding, but is mostly a DD. I don't want to run into rubbing issues against the fender/suspension so this is why I am weary to go 4" BS, but I also don't want to be too far out.

I have 15x8 Cragars with 4" BS and with my old 31x10.50's I rubbed pretty bad on the lower rear part of the front fender well. Now I have 32x11.50 and even with my BJ spacers it's going to require more trimming/grinding than I have already done. I even rub pulling into my driveway now which is ridiculous.

I had 4" bs 15 x 8 rock crawlers on my 92 4Runner with no rubbing at all and no lift with 31 x 10.5's. But I had MC bumpers. Mine didn't stick out very far either.

So if I went with the 4.75" BS, I shouldn't have those rubbing issues?

If you are planning to run Ball Joint Spacers, something less than 4.5" is probably the best bet, or 4.75" and a 0.25" wheel spacer if needed:

No rubbing at all even off-raod? I could drive around the streets no problem, but there were quite a few spots off-road that my front tires would catch on the lower rear of the front fenders pretty bad.

Are your torsions cranked at all? It looks like they are in the picture.

Thanks Roger now I have a little bit better of an understanding why people just go with 4" BS this is the route I think I will go.
