window screen 3rd gen 4Runner

Every time I've slept in my 4Runner with the windows cracked I didn't like the idea of mosquitoes getting in. A couple of times I woke up to the high pitched buzz of those nasty wings at my ear so a little experiment last night and we have a spring fit screen. I put it on the passenger rear because I can't really look though it anyway when in the driver's seat. It turned out baggy which bothers me a little but not enough to do anything about it at the moment. I used a sewing machine with a stretch stitch for the screen and used stainless 304 welding rod tigged at the joints. I think it might get sucked out If I roll the windows down all the way on the highway so that's another issue to think about. I might epoxy a small neodymium magnet to the upper left corner. I think that would take care of it. Not the greatest but at least it's an idea to build off of.

That is an excellent idea. I cut screens to fit the outside and used magnets to hold them on, but your idea is a lot cleaner. Thanks for the posting.

I was toying with this idea as well a few weeks ago. I had some old military mesh laying around and was thinking of stitching small rope into it and tucking it into the window seals. I cut a piece and just glued the rope into it. It worked pretty good and the mesh fabric will roll up and stuff wherever you need to stow it. I just need to get one of my female friends to do the sewing on the final product. Your set up looks pretty sweet though.

Warn wireless winch remote. I took the wired remote that came with the M8000 and sold it for $50 on ebay, took that money plus another $60 to get the wireless one. It's nice not to need to plug in or be so close to the line when pulling another vehicle out. Works pretty well but it's not as consistent as the plug in ones.
