They will be for sale in May, should have everything in place to begin production or it will be sold to a major RV manufacturer and they will build them. That is what I am hoping for, but most likely doubtfull. They looked at a week ago today and loved it. We shall see. The pricing is way under the competition with a stronger trailer and more options.

Weight

The trailer weighs right at 2000 pounds. It has 28 gallons of water on board, two 90 pound solar batteries, 7 gallons of propane, a tempurpedic mattress and a 35 inch spare tire mounted on it.

The trailer was over built in some areas, that will cut down on some weight, but not a great deal.

I have towed it on several tough trails and will again tomorrow. I am filming it with my gopro hopefully. It is capable of the Rubicon as far as strength, but most likely too wide, but can run John Bull. Will be doing Kokopelli with it in May. Its center of gravity is lower than Socal Tear Drops and AT tear drops.

Plust the price kills them. There is nothing like it on the market I promise you that.

Fully loaded with all the wife's extra crap, it weighed in at 2115 pounds. It tows better than the AT type trailers, at least it does better than my box trailer. Even though it weighs more the front and top give it better mileage. It also tows easier, no wind buffeting, less turbulance I guess. Never thought about that when building it, but turned out great in that respect.

Tailer

Took the trailer on its toughest trail to date. Caracre Trail and Pancake Rock.

Bets were being taken how far it would make it up the trail, most felt It would not make it past the first 200 yards, I guess.

Very twisting type trail, wheels off the ground for the FJ about every 30 feet, sometimes as much as three feet, back to back to back. The trailer made it to the top and then climbed to the top of Pancake rock. Very happy with its peformance.

Will try to get pictures up shortly.

This should give you an idea of how trail worthy it is. There were bets it would not make a 100 yards of the trail, but it went to the end and back and climbed the rock garden wall, several trucks did not make the wall.

Will be taking orders soon.

Working on the 2nd generation. 41 gallons of water oboard, 258 amp hour battery on board, solar, and a lot of new things not in this trailer.

We went into production on 1 June, finishing up the first one as we speak.

Trailer

Sorry for the delay, have been in Ouray, Colorado for the FJ Summit. Took the proto trailer, and was asked for several photo runs to show it and the truck on the trails.

the latest trailer is on expedition portal under Kelly Tear Drop build. I will try to put the new updates on this forum as soon as possible.

Ouray Base Camp...

Skersfan - Here is the frame for my new trailer. It will be a sleep inside deal. Very aggressive tear drop type, but looks like the space shuttle, fiberglass walls, sleep inside, air conditioning, temperpedic mattress, heat, hot & cold water, stove, fridge, spare tire, generators(2). Hope to have it rolling by Thrill On The Hill

Skersfan - This trailer will set the off road group on its ear I think. Nothing like it. The only problem is the width, so it will most likely become a base camp trailer, capable of any road, but to wide for some trails. Still a slight bit narrower than the FJ Cruiser, but not as trail worthy as my expedition trailers.

Skersfan - I should have walls done today, they are being bent at All Pro. I am stopping at Stellar trailers today to look at the fiberglass panels. If they are what I want I will order them Thursday with a one week turn around.

Skersfan - The water tanks are under the trailer, and will have access from inside the trailer, under a trap door. 22 gallons of water at axle level will help stability of the trailer for sure. I am very excited about this trailer.

Skersfan - Trailer is coming along quite well. Waiting on some parts to put in, stove, water heater, shower. The tanks are in and set under the floor. The back wall is up, but have noticed a correction needed on the roof. Will have to cut the front cross member and move it forward 1/5 inch. The wiring will be the next project, speaker wires for outdoor speaker, upper marker lights, porch light, outside lights, and interrior lights.
