Considering a 5.0 swap

My beloved blackjack has got a tired mill, and I am considering a domestic swap. Since my other passion is early broncos, I was excited to read a Ford SB could be shoe-horned in. My 1st dumb question would be is there an adapter for the 5.0 to the Toy auto transmission. I think I already know the answer. My next question would be does the AOD and transfer case fit betwix the frame rails, and under the body. Any info is much appreciated!

I've never heard of a Toy auto trans adapter.

I'm sure the ford components will fit inbetween the rails.

In fact, they make an adapter to fit a stock toy transfer case to a ford AOD trans

Thanks for the info. I have been doing some research as well, and it appears my V6 auto tranny transfer case is the one they don't have an adapter for. Soooo now I am looking at rebuilding the spare engine I bought for the heads, that only has 129K on it, but has a slight knock. For now anyway. I am sure the dark side will prevail in the end, and 4.3 drivetrain swap will be in the future!!

Anything is still possible, I have seen several full size and S10 trucks with the 4.3 and 4X4 trannys for sale for less than 800 bucks, and the GM swap seems to be the most common. I will reluctantly admit, the best thing I ever did to my early bronco was install a Q-jet carb, and a GM HEI distribitor.
