I've never heard of a Toy auto trans adapter.
I'm sure the ford components will fit inbetween the rails. In fact, they make an adapter to fit a stock toy transfer case to a ford AOD trans http://advanceadapters.com/product/1712/50-4402.html

Thanks for the info. I have been doing some research as well, and it appears my V6 auto tranny transfer case is the one they don't have an adapter for. Soooo now I am looking at rebuilding the spare engine I bought for the heads, that only has 129K on it, but has a slight knock. For now anyway. I am sure the dark side will prevail in the end, and 4.3 drivetrain swap will be in the future!!

Anything is still possible, I have seen several full size and S10 trucks with the 4.3 and 4X4 trannys for sale for less than 800 bucks, and the GM swap seems to be the most common. I will reluctantly admit, the best thing I ever did to my early bronco was install a Q-jet carb, and a GM HEI distribitor.
