4.3l with th350 t-case problem
i have a 1996 4.3l carburated with a th350, with stock toyota t-case. i can't seem to shift into 2wd. i have had this problem before with the toyota engine and trans, and have done the usual rocking back and forth and eventually got it to shift. i have tried everything. i took the shifter off and tried manually moving shift rail with no prevail. so i pulled the t-case out and now can shift in and out of 2wd just fine! wtf! any help would be great!

Check your adapter see if your shift rail is contacting it if it is you may have to shave a little off of the shift rail..... you can check your detent spring and bearing but if it is shifting just fine when not bolted to your transmission adapter then you are binding up somewhere on your shift rails... hope you get it figured out
