1985 Yota 4.3l TBI conversion

This conversion is practically complete........ Except the fact that now I am just beating my head against it over a voltage drop. I used advance adapters for virtually everything as far as the conversion goes. For the wiring though I got a harness built by street and performance, for my 4.3l TBI from a 91 s-10. The only thing it did not tie in was the alternator and the coil. I thought no big deal........ Wired the alternator with an 8 gauge wire to the battery and a wire running to a ignition signal. This seems good. As far as the coil goes I ran an 8 gauge wire to the Yota's harness to an 8 gauge ignition/start wire. It has 12 volts in ignition and start position....... The second I plug in the coil it drops to 6.5v. I tested the coil and it was bad. I put a new one in and still have the same problem with the voltage drop. Anybody been here????? Seriously after I figure this out I need to bleed the clutch and the power steering and finish the exhaust. I have searched the www for hours and found nothing, I have gone over both the Yota's wiring diagrams and the s-10 diagrams and can find nothing askew. I will buy the guy that figures this one out a twelve pack of their choice and ship it to you. Seriously.

It sounds like the ign switch can't handle the current or your engine to body ground isn't sufficient. By the way are you using the ign feed blk/red wire that sent power to the toyota injector's and the distributor. This is what you should be using to feed the coil and the alternator energizer feed and the tbi injectors. Use the big white wire that goes to the 80 amp fuse for your alternator charging feed only. if your alternator malfunctions it will only blow the 80 amp fuse instead of trashing your ecm and the rest of the electrical system. Good luck hope I am on the right track with my suggestion.
