RBX, cool thread! A sad fact of life is that to buy a complete 1KD-FTV with "almost" everything you'll need to convert it is going to set you back at least $10,000. Then you'll have $1200+ into shipping it here + customs duties + ISF filing fees + LTL to your location etc. Most JDM importers won't touch them because the 1KD doesnt have an emissions compliance certificate. If your engine gets flagged, their whole 40' container of engines are then scrutinized much closer. They're not going to risk all of that for the $150 they'll make off of one engine. The 1KD-FTV is also much too tall to fit into your truck without some crazy mods. I'm sure you're thinking that you can remove the intercooler and go front-mount. Take a look at the anti-shutter valve on the intake. It's actually approx 1.5" higher than the intercooler (with sensor). So you'd have to remove this as well as the EGR, and the intake manifold and go custom. Also, think of the link between the ECU and gauges more like a USB cable. There is not a dedicated wire for the tachometer, etc so you'd have no gauge functionality. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news for you there but I'd rather not see you waste a bunch of money.
