looks like an awesome project.
almost wish i had gone inline with mine.

wondering what kind of mpg's you can expect?
with the kind of HP numbers you are going to pull the fun factor far outweighs gas mileage though.
with my swap going from 100 to 200 HP is a night and day differance. and i still have to charge mine which will put me in the mid 300 range with tuning.

since everything looks first class why don't you go ahead and go with a gear drive TC?
i used a csf all metal three core v6 radiator .
you have to change input shaft and throw bearings and seals in while you have it apart.

im going to keep it automatic as the trans that came with the motor is way stronger than your typical a340 found in these trucks. an auto transfer case will bolt up to it with the output shaft shortened a little. i would love gear drive but money is a factor now and i still need some parts.

I have however decided to go 4wd off the bat and keep my stock drive shafts, hopefully, and at 280 horsepower stock i should be fine.

this project is already 1000 over budget and still climbing.
its true when they say take your budget and double it, in my case it was tripled but i also didnt plan as well as i could have ahead of time and make a more realistic estimate.

yep the budget goes out the window when you do a big project.

i didn't even keep up with what i spent when i did the motor swap part of my project.
i'm just glad i got mine done for the most part, with AC and everything before i ran out of money.
once you get halfway across the creek you have to keep swimming till you reach the other side.
it will be so satisfying every time you turn the key when you get done so keep the faith.
i intend to go long travel down the road too so the ride will be as good as the acceleration.
i think you will like the automatic, i am impressed with mine, so smooth on and off the road. instant power anytime you throttle up.

made some progress. i have to install a body lift which kind of sucks but it will solve all of the clearance issues.
pulled old drive train and mounted the 2jz and realized i dont have adequate trans tunnel clearance. with the body lift it will fit fine as well as giving me engough room up front to use a supra radiatior with puller fans.

I used Xcessive mounts that worked perfect! the only problem they interfered with the turbo oil drain. I fabbed a 2in. spacer to clear the engine mount. This was a pain in the arse and would pay a machinist next time.

her are some pics.

well motor is in. trans crossmember done, intercooler plumbed, fuel lines, power steering, radiator, all of it except wiring and exhaust. radiator is for a supra off ebay and sits behind the grill.Name: 20140412_184022_zps2ca759da.jpg

radiator had just enough room for a couple puller fans
the hood will have the latch reworked since it doesnt close with the little loop still there. may have to go with hood pins but i think i may have an idea there.Name: 20140405_182606_zpse8266e92.jpg

i would use a flex just to make sure that you don't have manifold/turbo cracking issues because of engine twisting on the motor mounts.

projects looking good, man thats a lot of motor under that hood...

as far as flex pipes go, the stainless braided ones are hard to find in 2.5 around here. would the other type of flex pipe that is the cheap kind be sufficient as to not leak?

well i decided to go without one. it will be rigid mounted as it passes under the motor to the block in a spot to keep the flex off the manifold. going to run 2.5 exhaust, no cat and thrush muffler. I read you need a 2 inch restriction with 3 inch exhaust for backspressure so the turbos dont overboost, i think 2.5 with a couple of 90's and a quiet muffler and no cat should be sufficent.
