What exhaust manifolds are you running

we are using manifolds off a 2001 tundra 2uz..

ok so we havnet really been doing much to this thing ... but heres a couple pics ..
wiring is about 90% done ,
mounts are about ready to fully weld .

This engine is sitting about an 1 1/2" lower than mine .. No body lift,But its alot more work also.

man i cant believe were going on 3 months with this thing..

ok so inchworm still doesnt have the adapter we need , so were gonna go ahead and go 2wd for now and wait for inchworm ..

using the 4runners a340h's output flange . we had to get a new rear seal for the lexus tranny .we needed one with the same outside diameter but a smaller inside diameter, and found a perfect match.

we're having the 4runners original radiator re cored to 5 row and having a few other modifications done to it .. temp sensor bungs,output input changed.

our Frankensteined oil pan holds 1 gallon and half a quart .

we installed the ls 400's throttle cable since its been working great in my truck ,is alot shorter than the 4runners cable .looks better.

the a/c compressor is really close the steering , so for now its ok , but well see if we cant make the rubber joint part smaller.

so we fired her up .. it was 12 midnight and was really loud .. we only ran her for a bit since no radiator on yet , one of the injectors is leaking , but other than that everything else seems ok ... . we did drop off the old radiator and it should be done today or tomorrow.

you having them put an elbow on the inlet? i just dropped mine off today to have that done.. i like the frankin-pan, looks like it allowed you to put the engine pretty low..

yea the old inlet outlet was capped and new ones were installed 90* at the top and an angled bottom , along with 2 temp sensor bungs and a new aux cooler. along with a new 5 row core..

they actually called today.. (we were at picknpull ) and my friend went over to pick it up , while i went home to get my welder. they wanted us to see if everything was ok and it fit ok .. before they painted it .



it didnt fit right, the bottom outlet sticks out to far , hits the alternator.. needs to come in a little more .. so well take it back and have them fix it ..

we actually got the 5 row for the same price they wanted for the 4 row core and all the mods , along with a gaurantee this radiator will cool the engine with A/C on , cruising on the sand at slow speeds or flooring the heck out of the truck ..

so heres the finished radiator .. well be using 3 10" fans , i think it will be more than enough to cool this thing with A/C..

Holy MACKEREL, RMA! That is the sweetest sounding 4Runner I've heard! lol... Wonderful read, man! Great work,... did you have any trouble with the Harness stuff, or is that your specialty(one of them? Lol)?

Thanks !! specialty ? no not yet , im working on it though.

No no real trouble with the harness, if you have the wiring diagrams its not really that hard, just takes a nice quiet corner .. the hardest part is making the harness look good .

ill do it cheap man , well alot cheaper than some local shops quoted us . some want $4000 plus parts, just to do the 3.4 swap .. thats super crazy ..

ill tell you if you leave me the truck and let me do it my way and dont get in my way its even cheaper

if you have better than the average joe skills, can read a wiring diagram, and weld...
you can do this yourself. just expect to spend some money on the trans adapters..

well.. ok, so still waiting on inchworms adapter dont have it yet .
i havent done much to this truck in a while , but my friends been busy installing little things he wants in his truck ..

he installed a rear view mirror out of a park avenue,( i think )it has a compass and dims and things like that.
he also installed the DRL box out of a 2001 or so corrolla mainly for the feature that turns the head lights on automatically when it gets dark.

the cluster is finished and looks great when completely assembled in the truck . i dont have a ny pics of it completely assembled .

the cluster is out of a sc 400 and is installed in the old 4runner cluster housing, it has green LEDs and red needles .

for the first gen 4runners i think this is the easiest and best way to go to have a completely working cluster with out having to make a whole new dash piece.






in the last pic it looks like every other number has a different shade of green but in person it does not look like that .
also the clear plastic on the front of the cluster was tinted with regular car window tint , the light shade
