Looking for a 1979-1983 swap
I have been searching for a couple days for a 79-83 swap, i have used google, pirate, and on here i just cant seem to find anything on it. which making me think that there is not any.

Honestly, unless you already have the 3.4 I would be looking at the 3rz swap instead. Hell of a lot easier to find a donor, it'll fit better, lighter and the HP is almost the same.

3rz is about 150 hp and 180 ft/lbs of torque, like the 3vze, but without head gasket issues and probably more aftermarket support. 5vz's are 190 hp and 220 ft/lbs, but will also weigh more. Another 5vz swap that I know of is Slacker's Trekker, though I think the details are in his build thread in the pre 84 build forum.

My thread is the one above the dntsdad posted. I will tell you this: Damn it is tight in that engine bay! Is it worth it? Oh yes! A 3RZ would be cool too. But my truck is crazy fast now.
