yeah that would be great. I was looking at other build threads and I saw a T spout that may help out a little. I will check my extra 3.0 parts. Route 2 of the engine hoses through it to one off of the firewall and then the other one from the block to the other firewall.

Yeah, sorry...checked all through my computer, those are the best 2 I have. In the top pic you can see the metal hard line. The second pic, notice the "T" then I routed rubber in a "U" and hooked it up to the heater valve. Not entirely sure which hose I routed to which, an my car's not right outside the coffee shop, sorry. I'll try to get a good pic today then post it here tomorrow.

So I bought another 4Runner yesterday. I was surfing Craigslist for parts and came across this add for a 4Runner for only $250. I need the passenger side window and a few little parts so I am stripping it for the parts I need then thinking of making it an off road only Toy. After I SAS and put an engine in it. It has a 3.0 with a bad knock! Big surprise there. But it does have a clear title. So here she is...

Here ya go, if it helps:

The first pic shows some of the routing of the hose coming from the pass. side fitting on the firewall. Second pic shows the routing of the hose off the driver's side fitting, and the 3rd pic shows the driver's side hose going to the engine.
Can't tell to well, but the hose routed from the driver's side fitting on the firewall goes to the fitting more towards the front and pass. side of the engine.
I hope this helps, sorry it's so crappy and a pain to follow, but I know you'll get it!

Ok. Time for my stupid moment of the day. I just realized I don't have the igniter from the Tacoma. So do I have to go get one or is there a way around this? Thanks guys

You need the 3.4 igniter. When you get it, make sure it is well grounded to the fender by sanding the paint to bare metal at the mounting points or with a ground wire.

Thats what I thought. I was looking at your thread earlier and that what got me thinking about how I don't have one. Can't believe I forgot to get that. Would any year work or is this one of those engine specific items?(Has to be froma 2001 Tacoma 4x4)

Ok. Got the cooling system lines done. Still need to buy some new hose but got it figured out. Thanks Jonnyboy. The extra one off to the drivers side is a much smaller tube. So the back two went to the fire wall. Now the coolant drain plug do I cap that or were do I route it? The driver side head line Looks to go to a large tube on the top of the intake plenum. Only problem is I don't have that large tube. So where does that normally go? Looking at Cadman and Jonnyboys pictures is how I figured that out.

I looked up the part number for my igniter and Toyota shows it being used on 3.4L engines from 1996-2002, and other model Toyotas too. Toyota of Dallas sells them for $355, so I'd try to find a used one first.

Thanks thats very helpful. Yeah looking at all the parts stores and they wanted about 465.00. So used is the way to go. On your swap, the bigger tube on the intake plenum were does that go? Cause looking at your pics I noticed that I don't have it. So I'm going to make my own and just need to figure out were is goes.

Are you referring to the hose near the firewall? That goes to the air chamber. Toyota made changes to the intake during the 3.4 production, so your stock intake tract is a little different than mine. I'll get some pics posted so you can compare.

Stole this from Cadman. Seeing as its a 2001 engine that I have my guess is this line was moved. I just am trying to figure out where it goes.

That large line goes to an intake box that is right next to the throttle body on the backside of the intake tube. I just checked my buddies taco for you.

Oh ok. That is great to hear. Thanks slcpunk74. Let's see i bought a new fuel return line and put that on. Put an oil filter on. Had to do some work on the pickup but should be starting on the swap again. And I will get some photos up after I work a little on it tonight.

Ok. I was lazy last night and got nothing done. Today I was a bit more productive. I cut the hood.

So I cut out the bracing. And trial fit on put cardboard to crush down so I know where it needs to be cut i also took a measuring tape, and double checked just to be safe. I didn't want to be way off.

Cut the hole. Trial fit, trimmed up a little piece. Then it looked alright.

Here is how she sits. After I get the hood scoop I will cut it up a little more. It's better to cut little amount still its right then to cut to much at once.

Then it was onto the battery tray. Friend was throwing a dryer away so I took it for sheet metal. Here the door is now becoming a battery tray.

All done. I mounted a bracket on the bottom and drilled a hole in it to bolt to the frame. With the slight lip it should be fine. If there is a problem I will fix it later.

When I get the battery I will see how the tray work I don't see a problem with it. When I get the hood scoop I will enlarge the hole for more engine room. After I removed the cross bracing the hood actually closed. But was barely hitting the top of the intake plenum. And I don't like body lifts. I know the engine needs a little room to shake around. But everything looked good.

I ran 8 gauge cable over to the fuse box. You could relocate the fuse box, but then you'd have to extend wires that run to the passenger side, so you'll be back in the same boat. Easier to run the cable to the fuse box. Can't help with the cruise control, I don't have it.
