S.S. brake line write up?

Hey, just picked up the pro comp brake lines to put on my 4runner. Justed wanted to see if any one had a write up or knew where one was. It's this kit at 4wp http://www.4wheelparts.com/4wp/produ...=SUS&prodline=
461&catName=Suspension&man=PRO&parentProdline=SusB rakePRO&expand=sub9
Thanks

there not too hard to put on, i would recommend getting the proper size line wrench so you don't round off your brake line fittings, pretty much you just remove the old hoses and install the new ones, bleed the system and your done

that's what I figured it's just that I haven't had a ton of experience working on my 4runner and this will be dealing with the brakes. I want to make sure I do it right cause I don't want any problems with being able to stop

Yeah what he said, plus the little retaining clips sometimes need to be modified a little to get them on the new lines. I think I used a dremel to open it up a little. The nuts they use on those brake and fuel lines are very easy to round off. I don't know why, its like they are made out of some super soft metal. If you round it off too bad, take a file and file new sides on the nut until the next smaller wrench fits it nice and tight. As already mentioned real line wrenches help a lot.

got this done today and it wasn't to bad. I think I built it up to worse than it was.....the lines are on and the system has been bled, but there's still play in the petal. I had to shave down those clips a bit with a dremel, but afterwards they went on fine. I'm kinda worried the lines might be leaking a bit or it may just be me being paranoid. Thanks for the help

What do you mean by play in the pedal? It shouldn't be leaking at all, leaks are very bad, not only can fluid get out but air can get in!

I can push on the pedal a bit before I feel the brakes and then they feel kinda soft. I know there shouldn't be any leaks, but I'm just the type that is paranoid about those things. I know this doesn't have to do with the lines, but sometimes my e-brake only has a couple of clicks and other times it pulls out a bunch more. A noticable difference in the amount that it comes out between the two.

That pedal thing sounds like maybe you didn't get all the air bled out. How did you do the bleeding? One man method, two man method, power flusher? Here is some good info on bleeding brakes: http://www.gadgetonline.com/BrakeFlush.htm

The last time I completely flushed my brake system (I have a power bleeder) I used a whole quart of fluid. I only use a fresh unopened bottle of brake fluid.

I used the power bleeder, but didn't use near that amount of fluid......what order did you go in cause I've read to do the lpsv last, but also after the rear wheels. Which is it? Thanks for all the help

You want to start with the longest brake line: http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b.../3checksan.pdf

If I remember right that would be the left rear.

got that and it make total sense...pr, dr, pf, df, but when should I do the lpsv cause looking at it to me it makes sense to bleed it after both rear tires. In the reading it states to do it after all the tires.....

ok got it...I'm listening to the FSM. Two questions though....what the BV? Brake valve?...I'm not sure and where is it? #2 bellcrank stopper screw?....I'm assuming that's the bellcrank in the pic next to that part of the instructions, but I can't see how there is a stopper screw on it. Thanks again

I don't know what the BV or the bellcrank stopper screw is either. What ever it is I guess I didn't bleed it.

Also since you are using the power bleeder make sure you don't run it dry at the end. I did that once and had to start all over again.
