88' 3.0 V6 4-runner problem starting cold
Has anyone else had any problems with starting their 4-runners when it is cold. This is the second truck that has done it to me. When it cold out it takes quite a few cranks than it should. when its warm out or after it ran and a little while later its fine. I dont drive the truck much at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Any luck with resolving the cold start problem? Just following up to compare notes with what appears to be sluggish cold starting in my '88 3.0L. I've got the same cold starting symptoms as you had described.

Fix... Maybe...
I did some tinkering this weekend and so far for the past three days she has started right up in the mornings without excess cranking.... Maybe it is a fix? I don't know but worth a try...
In the following picture I have an arrow pointing at a bolt... This bolt has a hole and is hollow in the center. While I had it off I also noticed the presence of gasoline so :pat: the hole in the screw has to be aligned with the incoming gas line. For whatever reason mine had worked itself out of alignment. I marked the bolt head with a sharpie and tightened her back down but made made sure it was aligned properly. Now she seems to be starting like a champ again...

That is definitely a possibility... doesn't take hardly anytime at all to take it out and make sure it is nice and clean!!!
Pay attention to the gaskets that are on it though... there is one on each side of the fuel line...

My cold start injector appeared to be clogged up. I removed it about a week ago and broke one of the mounting bolts!! Be very careful with how much torque you apply to the bolts. I was very, very lucky because I was able to remove the stud with an easy out.
Here's the link to my fiasco, which fortunately, worked out in my favour:
