I have a 93 runner with the 3vz, after some bad news about the prices of the series of sensors and valves i need, thinking about a swap, definetly want more power, what do yall think, 3.4(5vz) or chev small block probably 305 but maybe a 350 if itll fit. Would like power as well as efficiency. now i know a v8 will suck more gas but im thinking, the power to weight ratio will actually improve my 12mpg. Also if i go with the 8 will i need a new tranny i have the 5spd, 31" tires. Dont need 500hp but 300 would be nice. Any opinions are appreciated.

in short, everyone has their own opinion on which engine to switch to...

imo, keep the engine toyota... go for the 3.4

x2 on the 12mpg i cry at teh 3.05 gas station
