22re and 22rte block?

If you're talking about 85+ blocks (AKA, the LASRE block) then yes. The RE has the blanks for the oil feed and drain for the turbo, they just need to be drilled and tapped. The oil pump and front timing cover are SLIGHTLY different, but for all intents and purposes, they can be considered the same.

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but if I have 22rte block could I buy a rebuild kit for the 22re - pistons/rings and bearings and slap it all together, plug the turbo inlet hole and call it good? I will be putting a 22re head on it of course.

Yes you could. The turbo oil feed can be plugged with a bolt, the drain you might need to fabricate a plate for it.
I know on my JZ motors, the oil drain is actually the same shape as a standard garrett T3 oil drain, so you can use standard fittings on them. I haven't measured the RTE drain, but I think it's the same. You might be able to get away with buying a garrett oil drain fitting, stick a large bolt in the threaded part, and bolt that onto the side of your motor as a plug.
