rear springs in front

I was doing a search today and ran across a guy who had put his rear springs in front. Has anybody else heard of this? How much lift would you gain? Any? How well do the ride/flex in the front?

I have searched, but the words rear, front and springs come up a lot and don't always have anything to do with rears in the front. How much lift did you get from them? Do they flex okay? Did they bolt right in?
