towing with my 2012 tacoma 4wd sr5 v6 at 4 door..

Hello to all, this is my first post here and am glad to come to such a cool site, i hope i am putting this post in the right spot, but i am wondering about towing. I am scoping out a 1982 4x4 regular length bed as a project. it does roll, but doesnt run, so i was wondering about towing it with my tacoma. it is a 4.0 v6 at double cab in really good shape with all maintenance up to date, it has a reciever style trailer hitch .
I was curious if i left it in 4,not using overdrive, would i be able to pull this truck (weightwise ) with the front end in a 2 wheel dolly if i kept it nice and slow-55 mph ??
I believe the manual says i can pull 3500 lbs which is around what that truck weighs in at by itself i believe , i am not worried about the engine just the transmission. Any tips other than disconnecting the driveshaft- or towing advice in this manner ?
BTW its mostly flat here, and its probablly only about 50 miles of a tow haul (give or take 20 miles) i believe.
Thanks guys !!!
-J.W

Looks like this should have been posted in the Newbie section, not Trip Planning.

I'd tow it.

Btw. You can tow 6500 lbs if you have the tow package components like the oil cooler trans cooler beefed up alt/battery.... Ect....
