If I wasn't a loser I would have cruised out.

Looks like fun. Just 2 rigs? I should have gone in my celica....if that ford could make it my celica surely could.

We met Norm, He was the firefighter at Los Pinos lookout tower. He pointed out some interesting facts about the area. He pointed out Carveacre and Pancake rock and told us how on certain nights you can see trails of jeep lights crawling up Carveacre.

He works a 4 day shift up there. He monitors all the activity, including us wheelers.

Bring it to my work, we can fix it!!

hahahahaha well actually no your celica wouldnt make it very far...that ford made it up the easy way to the tower and then down the hill they just bonzed it and killed it about .5 mile down the espinoza trail...hehe
-there are proabably 4 or 5 encounters where a 2wd locked wouldnt make it...
-overall it was fun ass hell....wish we had more rigs out there...maybe another time

Glad you guys had a good time. Wish i coulda gone. Hey Seth, you know Marc. Always trying to make a buck. Bet he'd even pay the tow bill to get that p.o.s. into our dealership. He's desperate. Maybe i'll split the tow bill, and fix it up. Betcha it runs better than my jeep.

That ford is probably stolen. I suspect that is part of the reason that they closed Lawrence welk. Alot of a-holes would steal cars, part em out, drive em up there and roll em off the edges. Bastards......

You should have tagged some Toyota logos on it.....then our gang would get some respect.

Norm, the fire fighter guy, said it was a rental and that the rental agency came out to look at it. The agent drove another Ford Taurus out there to there lookout to look at the Ford Taurus that didn't make it...

It's a cool trail and the brush is pretty bad so you can't care about your paint job getting racing stripes. Make sure your CB antenna is eihter a whip style or has a spring on it for a firestick style.

I was joking we could get some eleectric hedge trimmers and duck tape them to my front bumper's "evil eyes" and I can clear the trail.

Thanks for sharing the pics smoka!

Where is that in relation to San Diego? It would be an over night trip for me.
Looks like fun though.

Anthony--it is about 45 miles east of SD. There are tons of trails there, from pretty easy to very hard. Great scenery, and it is high enough so you have trees and shade.

Here are pics of the hardest trail there--

That must be the newest pics of the trail since they've reopened because the trail has been changed. Mikey said the bypasses are even a 3 or 4 on a 5 scale.

Don't plan on winching yourself through the trail on the weekend with all the built rigs waiting for you

With that said, I'm off during the week sometimes and I'd spot you on a weekday

Glad you all had fun. I lost interest after the other trip was shotgunned since I just did Corral Canyon.
