San Diego Sunday June 26th
Mikey and I are going wheeling on the 26th. Probably to Corral Canyon, unless someone has a better idea.
Hopefully this is enough notice so people show up.

So it looks like its gonna be a slim turnout. I was thinking maybe Lawrence Welk trail off the 15 would be fun. I was just at Corral Canyon, and I have done Carveacre way too many times.
Here are directions and Pics--
Directions from SD
Pics from Just Runs
There is a gas station to your left when you get off the 15. I think its Arco, we can meet there. 10am is early enough.

I'm up for trying anything new. I'll be there at 9:55am ready to go!
Trail looks fairly easy. Any idea how much time it take to run through?

Dude I'm bummed I can't cruise.... Maybe I can bring my Celica. That is right around the corner from me. If you need help give me a call.
There is a texaco station nearby. The Arco is one exit south. DON'T GO THERE! That isn't the trail head.
All of you Southerners need to head North on the 15 to gopher canyon road. (You will pass the Texaco on your right before you get to Gopher Canyon road.
Turn right on gopher canyon and then turn right at the light. (Now you are headed South)
Turn right at the Texaco and go under Hwy 15. You will go up the hill and turn left at the first left. The trail head is right there on your right.
The trail is super easy. You could get through it in your sleep. I'll come rescue with my Celica. hahahaha
There are some rocks and stuff if you want to make it difficult. There is some fun stuff to explore. Just be careful of 2 things.
1. I ended up on a really steep descending trail on the North side that looked daunting. I had to back up it and my girlfriend soiled her seat.
2. There are sometimes Redneck A holes that like to shoot out there. If you see them at least make them aware of you. I usually opt to leave at that point.
Coming from the Texaco side there is a fun climb (easy though) and you are basically on the cliffs edge for a while (Great View, not as High as Carvacre)
Once you get to the top there is a flat area with what appears to be a bike track. There is some fun stuff to flex on and it was pretty muddy a couple months back.
On the east side there is a road out (Sometimes it is gated shut) that road takes you to Old Twin Oaks Valley Road. If you head south on it you end up in San Marcos if You go North it takes you to the west end of Gopher Canyon road.
Here are two videos of Lawrence welk that I made. Right click and "Save As", they are pretty big, but it will give you an idea of some of it.

Hey Dude.....Lawrence welk rocks! He is the Godfather of DeathMetal!!!!!!!!
Honestly, the trail is either really easy or really hard. I have some crawler buddies that do retarded stuff up there.....it's good for that, but I don't think we could do some of that stuff. There are some fun moderate spots if you look for a challenge. It's just the only spot in North COunty that I know of to test out suspension mods and get poser shots.

Hey Matt.... long time no see. I want to wheel with you guys but my rig will be in the shop. When I get her back we'll all have to go out to Coral Canyon since neither you or I have been there.
Dude if you go.....you have to crank some Lawrence Welk tunes up there.
