Looks like we will have a good turn-out. I have been looking at maps and talking to Robt2k about routes we can take. It will be a good mix of easy stuff to hard stuff with bypasses.

Hey There
RobT2k suggested I check this out cuz I was asking bout Wheeling in AZ and possibly So.Cal. This sounds like a lot of fun but I would like a little more details. Sadly I dont have camping gear so Im guessing I'd have to get a hotel room. I read someone else mention that as well. If I can swing it.. I'd leave on friday night after work get in late friday night and show up Sat morning for some runs. Yeah Im a noob (I'll see if I can disconnect the horn) and Im gonna need directions and stuff on how to get out there. I'll see if I can swing getting some gear but who knows.

rondo-

you really don't need a whole lot in the way of gear if you just want to rough it. i sleep in the back of my 4runner and bring a small cooler with some fod and drinks and whatever else you may need.

That is the area I had suggested for the 2wd group. Very fun area, with lots of washes to prerun.

Yeah, I read that about the green sticker too. I've never needed one, and a book I have about the area says vehicles must be licensed or have a green sticker. So as long as you're street legal, you're ok.
Did you get your locker in yet? Will it be in for this trip?

I hope that some of ya SD fellas are working up the trails for both the 4wd and 2wd. I know that not everyone will want to do the 4wd trails so we'll need to keep that option open for those that do come prerunner style

Can't wait.... a few weeks away. btw, we camping at the same spot? I'd like it to be abit away from that hill w/ all that noise.... hehe

Fish creek/Sandstone canyon for the 2wd crowd is gonna be plenty for them, done deal. Fonts point as another trail to do if they want more.

As far as camping by Blosand, that was one of the better spots, since its tucked up against the hillside. And it's noisy everywhere, bikes and buggys zipping around doesn't get any quieter.

Sorry guys, I'm going to have to bail. My previously approved vacation request was "retro-actively unapproved" today. Wimpy though I may be, but 20 plus hours of driving for one day of extreme fun is a wee bit too much for me. Catch y'all next time!

It will be great to have you. Robt2k and myself have been planning the runs, and we will post directions to the campsite when the date gets a little closer.
It will be pretty easy for everyone to find--just follow all the dune buggies and motorcycles.

Here's a decent map of the Anza Borrego area-

And this one is closer to the area we'll be in. You'll want to be heading for the Ranger station rd in the lower left side of the map. We'll be camping near Blosand hill.-

I think the easiest way for you will be 8 west to El Centro then 86 North to 78 west and then Ranger station rd. There's a booth there, but by the time you get in it could be closed. You could look around in the dark, or sit tight till morning and get the map from the ranger and find our camp in the light
