we wont rip on the jeep too much i am inviting a couple of friends that have jeeps too so they probably wont be alone. the wonderful thing about truckhaven is there is a little for everyone even 2wds. just make sure everyone has a tow strap and a little patience. tow points front and rear should also be mandatory.. if you get stuck i'll get you out but i dont want to tear off your front bumper to do it.....

loi, day run would be pretty rough as it's not close. the best way to get down there is via palm springs route (nice and flat and FAST - and i mean FAST!). the other route goes thru the mountains and you'll be doing slow turns and will take just as long but take a toll on your gas tank.

I'd say just show up sat morning or fri night and then head home the following day. i'd join ya guys but i'm in the middle of a project i'll make it up next time! i promise!!

&^$)(&#Q^)*($&^!@ I just talked to the girlfriend and she reminded me that her work Christmas party is on the 11th and somehow at some time I agreed to go. So now I'm trying to figure out how I can make this work.

Is the run on Saturday going to be early??? Maybe I can leave at like 5:00 or 6:00 saturday morningv and then leave with enough time to get home by 2:30 or 3:00 in the afternoon. Is possible/worth it. I finally have my damn truck back and I want to meet some of you Yotatechers.

Next weekend or the 11th is pretty much the only chances I'm going to get to wheel before the new year. I've gotta think about this. hmmmmm. I hate holidays, they get in the way of life.

That sounds pretty tight. If I recall you live a couple cities over from me. We didn't get started last time until between 9-9:30 or so. I showed up at 9 and remember unpacking an immediately hopping back in my truck to get on the trails. It's like an hour and a half or so if you take the 78 all the way there.

You'll have to leave around 12:30 or so to be safe depending on where we are in Truckhaven so you have enough time to get off the trails/area and then haul butt home. You'd be getting about three hours of time in the dirt and three hours of travel based the info above.

However, it's all speculation. Depending on what we do Sunday it might make more sense to come out for that but I've never done Coyote Canyon so I'm not sure if that one trial is worth the trip. MarcP and some of the others would know better.

Truckhaven Hills Turnoff

I found some GPS coordinates for the turnoff to get to the area. Not sure if it's useful or not, probably be easier to meet somewhere in town like the burger joint or gas station.

Sunday run sounds interesting. Where is it? Coyote Canyon? And what time are you thinking. That might be my only option. Thanks -Seth

My plan is for us to meet at the entrance to Truckhaven Hills between 9-9:30am Sat the 11th-there is one main entrance off the 86 called North marina Drive-we will be able to goof around while we wait for everyone. We will wheel all day at TH and find a place to camp sat night (bring some wood). On Sun we will pack up and head over to Coyote Canyon and do that trail. I would like to be at Coyote Canyon no later than 10am.

I will iron out the details over the next few days.

Yep, Meeting place and time for Sunday...

would be good. I will be coming East on S22 from Warner Springs thru Borrego Springs.

I don't have CB, but 2m Ham (KE6HLQ) and FRS radios. What channels?

Also, maybe cell phones work in BS?

If you guys are having breakfast in BS, I could meet you there.
