I'm wanting to go with Trail Chasers to the Superlift Park Sept. 25 and maybe on their Nov 20 run to Freilings or Cavanal Hill.

For right now, I'm thinking I'll stick around Tulsa.
September 11th, 18th, or 25th. Or why be picky? Go every weekend.

I can't afford to break anything on my rig right now and it's only slightly better than stock...but as long as someone else comes along...I have a tow strap
Those pics from Chandler Park look like the kind of terrain I like, so if everyone's fine with just driving home that night I wouldn't mind there. I've seen below the dam at Grand Lake as well (although just from the road), but it looked interesting there as well. So I really don't care.

Soon as I get my next paycheck this Friday, I'll be a contributing member (and able to post a poll) and will poll the date/place. Or someone else could do it for me...

Try this one, http://www.r65.org/tacoma it's the directory and you can link to Disney runs also. Check out the terrain there. Links aren't labeled as to where they're at, just the dates (end of the addy)

mt goat: Sounds like your familiar with Disney....?????? From the desc. of your rig, sounds like you wheel often.

Driving to work this morning I saw a '81 Pickup up on what looked like 33x12.5's or something along that size. Hollered at the guy and got his name & number, and the name and number of the local 4x4 shop / trail run organizer / knowitall here in Broken Arrow. He has been all around both Chandler Park and Disney and other places here, and said there are quite a few Yota guys in the area.

I'll be stopping by the shop and talk to the guy, then post details. These guys aren't on the internet so I will keep them informed by phone or visiting and we may get even a larger turnout!

No not Hercules on 71st, this place is around 81st and Lynn Lane. The guy I saw on the road (I forgot the names, have them written down in the truck) works at a place on the NE corner that specializes in Hondas, and the 4x4 customizing shop is on the SE corner (the way I understood it), on a side road or something. He's supposed to be open 'til 6 tonight and working later probably, so I plan to try and find it...

Speaking of BA people, I keep seeing a light blue or gray, bobbed off P/U, I think an early 90's modle, around 61st & Garnett. I think he works there somewhere as I have seen it in a parking lot several times. It's jacked up pretty high with at least 35's on it. Any idea who this guy is?

BTW, I live in Tulsa (Woodland Hills Mall area) but I work and worship in BA too. I'll be moving to BA sometime next year...

Nope, never been to Disney. Where is it anyway? It wasn't listed on my map.
We go to Colorado every year and wheel the Rockies for a week but that's about it so far. I'm pretty good at crusing the mall though

Disney is just East of Pensacola, and quite a ways South of Miami it's up by Grand Lake....
I'd say a fair hour past Tulsa if you start from the East side. Pretty, pretty country up there.

I live right by that Honda Specialist. Well, about a half mile away. I've never noticed any "truck" place around there and from time to time I have some machining done right around the corner from it. Hmmmmm The SE corner is a little conv. store. Has some commercial property back there but no signs I can think of. I'll swing that way tomorrow after dropping my daughter off at skewl.
That lifted, lok't, chop't up, plated, 97, 2.7L, automatic, lavender steel metallic, Tacoma with a bobbed bed and Baja Claws at 61st & Garnett would be ME. They're only 33's though. I had 34 LTB's on it but sold em a while back to fund a trike for my oldest daughter.
Yup, trike riders.

Got a pic of your rig? Black???

So today you would have been driving an 80s extended cab PU. I was 2 cars behind you when you got on 169 but I couldn't catch your attention, and I was headed under on 61st instead of going up on the highway. Weird. Oh well. I might stop in some time, I saw where you were leaving work.

The only pic of my rig that I have online is...

last summer.
It's a dark green under all the mud.
I had 31's on in that picture. I was actually driving home from the house of one of my college professors, and tried the county road without a bridge. The creek was washed out and I would have made it except for the 2 ft ledge I tried to climb on the other side, which quickly turned into 3ft, and 4 ft as I sunk my back wheels in the mud.
I had to call my prof to come pull me out backwards as I was scooping up too much muck with my front end, and not getting enough traction to just power out. Wish I had a winch and a hundred ft of strap!

But it was fun driving around Norman for a couple weeks with mud all over, and all the Indians who never left India or OU's campus staring at me like I'd killed a cow....

Changes since then include: Mounted my Hi-Lift jack and Fire Extinguisher on the roof rack, Put 33x9.5's on my wheels (at which time the girlfriend insisted that I put the running boards back on) and a few dents and dings....

oh yeah I warshed it too.

You must be talkin' about that red 86 xtra cab. No that's not mine. That's my secretary's. Thursdays are my days out of the office. That's why you didn't see my junk there.

I also have a 92 Runna (it's red)

Prerequisite for work...???

No. Just worked out that way. Our sales manager also drives a Toyota from time to time. He's got a 97 Runna but it's 2wd.

Actually, my secretary picked that truck up for 1000 dollaz. I gave her an old set of 32 BFG A/T's that I had and she'll be puttin' em on in the next week or so. I've also adjusted her t-barz and will be removing the AAL and installing some shackles for her. Then it's the high clearance bed mod, maybe a bob, and a wrap bumper.
Her husband is an old friend of mine. One of my oldest okie friends. Met him within months after moving here back in 91.

We'll start in on her front & belly protection this winter.

BTW: You need custom: sliders, skid plates, bed bar, bumperz, or anything steel, let me know.

I know, I know I know...

But first, I need to:
Pay off the wedding ring
Pay for part of the wedding/honeymoon cost
Pay off credit cards
Pay off school bills....(eek...may let this one go a while)
Get moved into a house, instead of an apt....

So as soon as I get that done...haha. I should have the truck paid off by then, too. ALL of that (minus the school loans) should be done in 12-18 months....

Violent 4wd; Trail Run Date

VIOLENT 4WD:

Okay, here is the skinny on the latest and greatest 4x4 shop in Broken Arrow!

The owner/operator is Justin Gerther, and he has been operating on his own for about 5 months. The shop is located at 714 S 8th. Get to 81st and Lynn Lane, go about 1 block west and half a block south on 8th. (Or you can go south 1 block, turn onto Jackson, then go 1/2 block North on 8th.)

He had about 7 Jeeps in there, in various states of upbuild. He specializes in suspension, tubing, conversions.... yes conversions, he was converting a 2x4 F150 to a 4x4. And he had an old 4x4 Suburban in the back somewhere.

He also had a corner of the shop set aside for a paint booth, with one of his personal jeeps in there.

The invitation is to stop by anytime, especially on Saturdays. There's always someone there on Saturdays and usually lots of people hanging around.

TRAIL RUN INFO:

Justin says he is organizing a big trail run at either Chandler Park or Grand Lake on Sept. 11th. Why then? His newlywed wife will be out of town, it's the first chance to wheel in a while.

So everybody gear up. I'll keep in touch and find out which place they intend to go.

Hoodlum, stop by Justin's shop this evening. He said he's seen your rig around, he thinks your name is Bob (is it? I know you only as Hoodlum...), but he hasn't met you.

My name is CHED. Yah, like CHAD, but an E instead of an A.

I drove all over that area this morn' and didn't see squat. Does he have a sign?? I went down both 8th and 9th. Now that I know his addy, I'll swing by.

I wonder why he though my name was BOB. LOL

That's pretty much one of the same days I suggested.
I'm game to wheel on the 11th! Either place is fine with me.
Keep us posted.

Nice to meet you, Ched. If you hadn't figured it out, I'm John (In_John_eer... my degree is in engineering...so yah.)

I should have taken a picture of the shop, DOH. I found it by all the jeeps parked outside. It's on the west side of 8th street, a drab brown metal bldg.
There's a suburban parked on the south side kinda back a ways, and the garage doors are on the south as well.
"Violent 4wd" is on a little black mailbox, on the North side of the mailbox...
