Greenwater Spring Cleanup FS Road 70 (May 2007)
I just got off the phone with the forest service for the Greenwater area, and they have quite a few clubs including off road clubs and snowmobile clubs that volunteer time up there to cleanup trash left around sites and trails.
One of the big snowmobile clubs has their cleanup the first weekend in June.
I thought we could shoot for sometime in May?
I can let the spokeswoman I talked with know when we will be up there, and we each will receive a day pass for areas to park in that require a pass such as trailheads for hiking if you ever decide to go up there and do that sometime.
There is a trailhead I use to go to quite a bit up there and hike to these lakes, and it was free back then.
This trailhead now requires a pass, and it is almost at the end of the 10 mile asphalt road on 70 before it turns to dirt.
Just putting up a feeler now to see if anyone would be interested in doing a cleanup up there.
We could do a little exploring of trials too, but would be keeping an eye out mainly for trash to pick up.
I figure up at the top of the 10 mile area I spoke of, as there are lots of nice little trials to explore up there, and quite a few camping spots that would have trash in them leftover from winter hunters/campers ect.
We could keep an eye on the weather and nail it down to a good Saturday sometime in May.
Anyone interested?
This is also good way to get a good rapport with them.
