I'll probably be game for a fall colors run. Any of those weekends should be good for me.

Talking October

If I get a rig by then, I'm game! If not, I'll see if Captain dirt poser (bamachem) will come along and I can just ride with him! Windrock sounds good!

Get a rig Wabbitman! It'll drive you nuts to just be a passenger-you'll be the designated cameraman/counterweight .

Hey Chris, what kind of camping accomodations are near Windrock? Anything similar to as nice as Crawfords?

Thanks for the heads up, but no money to spend right now to buy. I looked at it and wished on a star!

There are no accomodations! J/K, but there's no official campground at Windrock that I'm aware of. In fact, the people are free to ride around all night, keep everyone awake, etc. It's not an organized campground at all. But, there's good riding as your know Brett! But, if you have to take a shower every night, I wouldn't recommend Windrock!

Chris

P.S. Now, I did hear that someone was building a campground, and it may exist now. I've just never used it!

<-- would rather do paragon, R.C., or even GWNF.

I'm already doing the drive up to badlands (10 hours) .. I don't think I can do two (10+ hour) road trips in a month. Especiay if everything goes to plan I can get the 35s on there in time.

I'm telling you guys .. paragon is the way to go. There is some really good wheeling there. campground is 10 min away, and has all the amenities (sp?) you could ever need.

Paragon sounds good, but um I think it's about 1000 miles for us Bama boys. I too love the campground idea and who has the best-probably Crawfords at Tellico. Never been to Paragon, Uwharrie, or GWNF though. For camping, an organized one is nice so that I can bring the pop-up camper and the wife will go then.

Can't pop-ups work without support for at least a day or two, or am I wrong about that? I don't know if they have organized campground at Windrock, but I'll check and let everyone know.

I don't have the wiring hooked up for the battery, but yes, I can run the stove w/o electricity (although if it's hot I'm real fond of the a/c). Water for a campground is pretty nice though too. Crawfords is so nice with the really nice showers and all. I don't have to have the pop up there, it's just really nice.

This appears to be the closest campsite to Windrock at only 1-2 miles from it. Here's the link to it: http://www.windrockcampground.com/
