AZ trail run, Lake Pleasant to Crown King, 13 Nov, 2004
#42
I am getting myself motivated for this trip this weekend, and since my poor 4runner is badly in need of some maintenance i thought i would take care of it this weekend so nothing breaks on the trail next weekend. I am going to replace my cv axles and i even have brand new bilsteins on order. they should all be in and ready to go by the weekend. Cant wait, see you all saturday!

The way the weather forecast looks, it might be a big slippery mess anyway. I just might back out also. I have a lot of stuff to take care of. I know Mark will understand anyway.

AS OF TODAY, 08 NOV 04
I'm getting conflicting reports on Saturday weather- the NWS Flagstaff shows reasonable weather for the area, the Weather Channel forecasts rain for Friday and Saturday.
By Wednesday the forecast should be a bit more refined, so hang on until then...

Nahh, my front end is covered in mud after this weekend. I am more afraid of my AT tires sliding off the slick rocks! We'll see...like Mark said Wednesday will give us a better indication of the weather.

IT'S LOOKING GOOD FOR SATURDAY!
Be prepared for cool weather!
For Phoenix: Saturday. Partly sunny. Highs in the mid to upper 60s.
For Crown King: Saturday. Partly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of rain and snow. Highs 45 to 54.
See Ya!

Mark sounds good! Is it ok to meet up with you guys at Castle Hot Springs Road? Or do you want us all to meet up at the same place.

Greg, that's fine-
I'm guessing it'll prolly take us 15 to 20 minutes or so to get there from I-17. Plan on being there by 9:30 AM or so.

If any one is late, we will be stopping to air down at the end of the pavement. Try to catch up w/ us there!

We will have a short drivers meeting at the air down spot.

I'll need a volunteer with a CB to take the all important tailgunner slot.

Please be prepared for cool/cold wet weather. I never trust the weather dudes/duedettes

I've been thru this trail many times, and it can be a easy run (usually it is ) or it can be a very difficult trip if there are any major problems. A few years ago it took us until 8 PM to get the last rig to CK due to mechanical problems and flat tires...we towed'm from the Oro Belle all the way to Prescott.

Allright I am all set! finally got my new shocks on. The new cv axles took forever because the splines werent made right and i pretty much had to grind them all by hand with a file! But i finally got my hub on and i am set to go! See ya'll on sat!
