Anza-Borrego/Mud Hills question
Is the Mud hills area accessable or has it been closed to motorized traffic? My son is going out this weekend for a boyscout overnighter and the troop is hiking in...I want to go but I want to play a little too lol.I'm not sure of the exact location just Mud Hills. I know they are parking at a camp ground that is "just past a curve in the road" and backpacking in.

I'm pretty sure you can get to the mud hills in a vehicle. I was just at the mud caves last month, I'm assuming that the same area. I got there by going 78 east to split mountain road, up fish creek and up diablo dropoff, but there are tons of washes that lead there. I'm sure you could just cross check the scout maps with the trail maps.

Not exactly, but Sandstone Canyon is close enough. Here are more pics of the caves, they are definately fun to..... spelunk. Don't forget a flashlight.
