should I trade for this 1992 4x4 toyota pickup?

I'm trying to sell my 1989 firebird and someone offered to trade their 1992 toyota 4x4 pickup for it. My car gets under 12 mpg so I want something more fuel efficient and the owner of the pickup said these get around 24 mpg. I don't know anything about these or the value so I would like yalls help.

The guy said it has a recent engine rebuild and has all the paper work for the work. I'm not a noob at cars either so I can handle most repairs and diagnosing performance problems

I like small trucks and that's what I want but I'm not too fond of single cabs I have seen some really nice ones on here though so If I like it, I'll probably trade

I got the craiglist ad the guy has, any info would be great

My cars not in the best shape but I know I can get at least $2,500 for it

I'd check it out, maybe even have a shop inspect it before I did the deal. I know if I baby mine, all stock with 22RE 5spd, I can get over 20 mpg average. In town though, 15-16 is about it. If its a V6, maybe a little less. Auto probably less, too. I miss my camaro sometimes, but I don't regret havin this instead. So much more simple, useable, and fun. Cooler, too.

20+ mpg sounds great compared to the bird, My 1998 chevy 2500 long bed gets better mpg than the bird

its a trans am with power everything except seats, even the original power side mirrors work. I would restore it myself if I had the money. I replaced a bit of parts on it so it doesn't really need much, just some body and a bit of interior work. Yes they are original wheels, but I'd rather they stay with the car. They've made it this long and are in pretty good shape

Disregard KBB prices for Toyota trucks. They hold their value pretty good. The price the guy is asking is about market price for a 20 year old clean Toyota..

Well, rust free ones in some places fetch a premium. Around here, 1600 is about where the beaters start. I'd say it's worth around 2200-3000 the way it sits. Maybe a little more. But that's local-ish prices. Check it out, if ya like it, do it.

Do it dude, you'll love the toy, from the pics and where it's located I bet body and fame a great condition, if frame and main body (cab and doghouse) is good, everything else is easily replaceable, if you get it start a build thread, I would trade!!!!

If you find that truck at a "buy here pay here" they would want 3-4k. Blue book isn't true value of anything that 15+ years old. Of course the same dealer would only give you blue book for you firebird if you trade. I think this trade you're considering is about equal in value. My truck only books for 800 but I have been offered 2k for it. To me it worth a lot more.

I finally made the trade this past friday. This is my first standard vehicle so I had a fun time bringing it home and before that I drove my friends standard accord for like 15 minutes. I'm getting the hang of it now that I've had it for a few days.

So far I'm digging this little truck, the body is decent, its got some dents on the pass side but not too noticeable. It also smokes a bit when its cold, the PO said he suspects piston rings, I'll have to check it out sometime. Its also missing the dash bezel and the part that covers the steering column. Oh and the alignment is off, I put it on the rack at school but we ran out of time so I'll have to mess with it some other time. Other than that the trucks awesome

It has a camper which I didnt like at first but its grown on me a bit. I just don't like the blind spots it makes. I was letting my friend drive it today and we passed by some place that looked pretty fun to test the 4x4 on, not sure what kind of ticket I would get if a cop saw us
