Central Oregon Overlanders Dump Site Clean Up

My fiance and I are sick of seeing trash dumped in the woods while out wheeling, so instead of just complaining about it we are doing something about it.
We talked to our local Forest Service office if they could offset the cost of disposal if we go out and collect the trash and they were more than happy to do so, along with providing us trash bags, maps of all the dump sites and even bringing out a FS dump truck to load all the garbage into.
We have currently been assigned the China Hat area, which anyone who lives in Bend knows that it's the preferred spot for loosers to dump their trash. We went out on our fist clean up a couple weekends ago and within 3 hours between about 5 people we collected 1,160 pounds of trash...and that was only about 3 dump sites (our map has about 20 on it).

We're planning another round of clean ups here pretty soon; anyone in the Central Oregon area want to join in?

This Sunday (5/1/11) We'll be doing another clean up. We're meeting at Cabin Butte off China Hat Rd at 9:30am. Bring your gloves and a sack lunch, we'll be out till about 4:30.
Exact location of meetup will be at 43.952604,-121.241283 (you can copy and paste that into Google maps and it'll come right up.)

All are welcome, especially if you have a pickup

This was another successful Sunday cleanup for us out here in Bend, we had 5 vehicles out there, A. Paris' 88 pickup, my 86 4Runner, a buddies 91 4Runner, a full size Chevy, and a 1 ton Forest Service truck. We cleaned up a few miles of trail, almost caught a dumper in the act, and found some things that we'd rather not have found, including needles, murdered dogs, and other horrible things dumped in the woods. If anyone on here is in the Bend area and would like to give back to the woods a little, you're always welcome to come on out and help us pick up some trash!

Last trip we pulled around 1600 pounds of trash, and 400 pounds of recycling, this time we pulled quite a bit more. The Forest Service has been great in facilitating us on Sundays to go out there, and providing a truck to assist. We should be headed out for cleanup again on the 15th, if anyone is in, let me or A. Paris know!
