New rear FJ Cruiser bumper

Looking at three, have not made a decision yet.

All Pro
Nice looking, but they do not powder coat.
I hate having to lug stuff some place to get this done.

Bentup
Nice, and AJ can get them powercoated as he did with my sliderz.

Warn
The Warn looks very nice, comes powder coated like my ARB front one.
I need to call them up and see if my rear parking sensors fit into it like the All Pro one.
Not sure if Bentups has them or not.

Called up Warn, and the rear one is not even in production yet.
They are wondeing why Central 4WD is taking orders already on it.

It will not be out until January.
It will accomodate the backup sensors, and it also will let you use the stock factory hitch.

Looks like this is the one I will end up going with.

You've got the ARB up front, right? I'd say go with whichever you think matches the front best...

The Warn is cool. I think I like the Bentup one best because of the integrated lights. The Fab Fours bumper will be available in January as well:

I am diggin' the Warn.
I do not need a swingout, I am happy with it mounted to the rear door, plus that saves weight on the bumper.

Plus Warn is more than likely to have these on hand once they start up production on them.

I have found out it often takes a long time to get stuff from some of the other outfits.

And if there is a problem down the road with the Warn, I can return it to Central 4WD by me and get a replacement if needed.

Corey - I've seen the Bentup bumper on Angry Andy's FJ and it is very nice. The backup sensor are integrated in to the bumper as well. I don't remember Andy having the backup lights in his (I think it's optional). In terms of the tire carrier, you might change your mind once you have a larger wheel hanging off the back door. As you know I have 305's and my rear door shock is all but dead and in time the hinges will start to sag. I already have to lift up a little when I close the door to make it align correctly. I was really hoping ARB would make a rear bumper with a tire carrier, but given it's not even on the table right now I will look at the fab fours or having one made (with a tire carrier). Good luck!

Yeah, ARB will someday, but I do not expect one for a year or more.

I may upgrade to 285s next year, not sure.
I think the 265s look fine with the lift.

If I did go 285, hopefully the door can handle the extra weight.

That Warn bumper though just looks so clean.
I also am turned off by any extra lights on it.
I like the clean look better.

any one have any better pictures of the fab four rear bumper?

also , you can buy the spindle that most companies are using for the swing out tire carrier and have a carier fabbed up. i cant remeber which site i saw the spindle on, but i know ive seen it. might be an option for someone who wants to go with the warn ( if heavy duty enough ) to add one later.

im happy with my fab fours frontbumper and i might jsut have to pick up the rear one too. im definitly going to go with some time of swing out carrier for the rear .

i guess ive already spent my tax refund i nmy mind LOL

I would vote for the warn bumper as a matter of aesthetics. It seems to match the lines of the body better than the other two and falls somewhere in between ostentatious and bland. My .02.

getting the spare tire off of the body and onto the bumper/frame for support should be part of the deal.
Good recovery points should also be mandatory. And by good, I mean bombproof--ask for pics of how they are tied into the frame.

Fab Fours makes nice stuff. As much as I hate to say this, I really like the way they dealt with those ugly wings on the back of the FJC.

I hope they up the carrier mount though, that bumper on the UA FJ got BEAT!

Wow that red Warn FJ looks amazing. Why cant Toyota make nice colors like red or desert beige?

Warn bumper looks really nice.

I heard a rumor that they might be coming out with red and also the dune color later.

I PM'd All Pro here, but have not heard back from him yet.
On the Warn rear bumper, their department confimred with me on the tele that you must cut the side of the rear bumpers plastic that wraps around to install it.
That turns me off, as I suck at body work, and do not feel compfortable hacking into a new rig.

Not sure if the All Pro one you have to do that to or not.
The Warn lets you use the factory port installed hitch and the backup sensors, not sure if the AP one does or not.

I would rather not have to have anything cut back there.

corey , as far as ive seen , your only cutting the plastic part of the bumper , the high rise part of the rear bumper cover , and putting them back on, i think they just snap in place. i jsut saw them do it on the extreme 4x4 show with the rear bumper they installed. i beleive its just a straight line cut.
thats the only thing about the fab fours rear bumper i dont like, i rather have less weight of the metal bumper with the platsic trim , then i would the full metal high rise wings.

Maybe I can have Jessi come up and help me install it
Ya think

A few pics below shows Ian cutting it.
I grabbed these stills just now from the show I had recorded last week.
My PVR software lets me take snapshots as it is playing back.

It looks easy enough to cut, but I have never used a sawzall before, and I do not own one.

if you can cut a piece of bread you can cut with a sawzall, in fact its alot like an electric knife you would use to tri mthe thanksgiving turkey with.
be aware of some bad sawzalls , like the ones from harbor freight, total junk , cheap but junk. corey , im sure you might know a few people at your work that have a little experince with a few power tools, im sure a pizzz and a few cold ones and they'd probably love to come over and cut on a $30,000 rig LOL. jsut make sure they arent big jeep lovers or you might have more gone fro myour vehilce then just the bumper wings LOL.

J, I think I am going with the Warn.
Reason?

Not because it is painted, I heard from All Pro that all future bumpers can now come powdercoated from them.

The reason is the factory hitch will not work with the All Pro bumper, you must spend another $100 and use their hitch that attaches to their bumper.

I paid good $$$ for my factory hitch and want to continue to use it.
The factory hitch works with the Warn bumper.

Warns bumper should make it out before the end of the month.
