FJ front skid plate install- HELP!

Greetings,

I just purchased one of the oem accessory aluminum front skid plates for my FJ from a private seller- it was pulled off of another FJ and came with all the hardware. I figured it was an easy bolt-on installation, but when I went to do it, I couldn't figure out for the life of me how this thing is supposed to be mounted. I'm assuming the stock black plate is supposed to be removed first, but even when doing this, I can only find 2 front mounting holes in the front frame crossmember- there should be 2 more about 6 inches behind these, but they're nowhere to be found. I looked online and it says that the skid plate is supposed to mount directly to the frame with no drilling required.

Does anyone either have a copy of the mounting instructions for the skid plate or have one on their FJ that they could send me detailed pics of?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Corey- you da man. The guy did not include the front brackets- now it all makes sense. Glad to know I'm not a complete mechanical moron. Thanks very much!

You are welcome Merrill.

Post up some pics of your FJ when you get a chance.
