Well they did good off-road. Ihave the 285's and I wouldn't go any smaller. With a 2in lift I have no rubbing at all! I might be going up to 35's in the future.

Not to take this thread completely offline, but if either of you could be so kind as to let me (or us) know what your experiences with the Coop's STT's are I'd be grateful. I've been running Coops for the past 4+ years (not STTs) and they've been a great tire. So much so, that I plan on giving them my business this fall since I'm in the market for some new skins. I've been eyeballing the STTs fro quite some time, but I'm having a tough time deciding be them and the Discoverer S/T-C.

I know what you mean about deciding.
I am still debating between stock size and the one inch over 285s.

I am having the OME coil/shock 2.5" lift put on later, so it might make sence to go with the 285s.
It might look funny lifted and the 265s?
I do not know, might not look bad either still with the 265s.

I just hate throwing off the speedo a little, and loosing a tad of power.
I am diggin' the power of this new rig over my very tired 3.0 that was in the 4Runner.

Yea... I'm concerned about some of the same things (not to mention MPG). 285s would be teet if it weren't for the the rubbing/MPG/power loss issues. I'm pretty much set on 265/75/16s, but can't seem to decide between the STT or S/T-C, but I also have considerable snow to deal with as well, where J doesn't.

I can only image how good those extra horses feel after some many years in a 3.slow.

Plus not to mention for the last year I have been running on 5 cylinders, an earth jarring experience to say the least.

Such a smoooooooooooth ride now on the highway.

Corey, I used a speedo-check station, and found that the speedometer with 285 was still accurate to the point where you won't notice, less than a mile off in a 5 mile distance. As for power loss, you're probably not going to notice much IF ANY. It'll look silly with 265 and a lift in my opinion, even my 285s look kind of small with the OME lift.

This new bumper looks great for rock crawling, but for overall front end protection, it looks rather weak (no disrespect meant). I am going with the ARB.
