wet weather blues

Hello ev1 i recently purchaced my 1st yota had numerous samuaris before but i am a convert now. Anyway 1 have a 1988 4runner 3.0 and encountered my 1st hard rain. She acted like it was running on 3 cilinders cutting out and even dying. I managed to make it home and it rained all night. The next morning she was terribly hard to start even more so than usual i already had cold start issues. Started to di electric grease all the electral connections are there any areas more prone to moisture gettin in than some or am i headed in the wrong direction entirely?

Does your distributer have the rubber boot cover on it?

Otherwise it gets hit with rain forced by the radiator fan..
