ecu or not???

i have an 88 4x4 with efi. somthing seemed to be going bad on it, the batt.& brake light would go on & off randomly or when turning corners then died all together while turning a corner & wont start. 2 shops including a toyota specialist said it was probly the ECU, i tried a 89661-35150 ECU but mine is a -35110.... can anyone tell me if i need the exact #? P.S. they both said the injectors are gettin power but not a ground. i cant find any shorts or breaks. i tried to fire it on starting fluid, not even a fart......

Injectors are grounded via the ECU, check the injector wire splices:
