Bypassing cover top switch on a '85 runner?
Does anybody have any experience or knowledge about bypassing the interlock switch for the rear window relay that is actuated by the "A" bolt on 1st gen toppers? Just popped my top for the first time and realized that the contact was mangled all to hell, don't wanna make it worse, but it's been around -20º every night for the past week. Anybody done this before?

It is a simple switch just splice the 2 wires together .
i would use a connection that at some point can be easily restored because if you at some point have the top off and go to raise the window it might break.
Although I raise and lower mine with the hatch down but standing right there supporting it when I need to work on things.
Might be just easier to just get it fixed correct as soon as possible

Figured as much, just a splice and cap. Thanks for the reply. Once its warm enough to pop the top for good, I'll probably just pull the window out for the season. Cheers.
