83 toyota died on hiway

I was driving on hiway truck died, it then restarted drove home no problems.the next trip on freeway it died no restart, replaced ignitor with used one. Still no start.replaced pic up coil new one, no start.did some tests, getting power to ignitor and coil. No power to distributor, this my first older toyota pickup.not sure whats going on with it..any help would great...;0) thanks

so i take it your not getting spark?

cant remember much on the old pickups....but whatever sends power to distributor, are you getting power there? (coil i believe)

Not getting spark out of coil, distributor is turning, motor only has 300 miles on it, is there a way to change coil to a msd , or a diffrent setup besides a toyota? Any help would be great ...thanks I will change coil and let you know the outcome...
