I have a couple of Viper alarms on my vehicles. I have to change the battery in one of them every 6 months or so. (2way transmitter/receiver) the Solaris i have changed the battery and did not have to reprogram the remote. I would call Viper if you have to reprogram. they should have an answer for ya.

Thanks for the response. I made a mistake, it's actually an Omega. The problem is that I can't seem to get a phone number and their website doesn't have my model listed. I had 2 remotes and was unsuccessful at replacing the battery on the first (the remote would not operate once it was opened, even though I see the led light on it light up) so I am afraid to open this one and lose the functionality. Do you know anywhere else that I might find this info? Thanks

on some alarms, the control unit will switch codes, in essence leaving your dead remote "behind" on the code/channel, so you have to press the arm (arm/disarm if its one button) a few times within a given time period for them to resync. i dont know if yours is that way or not but couldnt hurt.
