tricked out 22re running rough
I should probably just call LCE but I thought I'd try here first.
PO installed the LCE Header, pro/street cam and the 94mm pro stroker crank.
it idles like a diesel and sounds like . I'm wondering if this componant combination calls for any specific adjustments that are beyond factory specs. Like timing and plug gaps.
the work was done by a reputable shop and was put together about 100k ago. I called the shop (PO's son runs the shop) and he said they could never get it to idle smoothly. I haven't really messed with it much other than raising lowering idle. I'm reving up to figure this out so I did a quick balance test yesterday and all Cyl seem to be contributing equally. It kinda runs like it might have a misfire and drops about 100rpms on the factory guage when I turn the heater on, thinking maybe some extra grounding is in order.
Anyway just looking for thoughts/exp.

well I called LCE and they said everything should run fine at stock specs so I guess I'll just start at square one and run basic engine diagnostics to see whats happening.
any input would still be appreciated though

didn't see your post, I'm gonna fart around with it because the LC guy said it "should idle fine" so we'll see I probably got a vac leak somewhere or something equally stupid, after all I'm sure most of the motor has 250K+ on it.

Tune up.
check for vacuum leaks.
timing.
compression.
4 gas analyzer. To be correct you should bypass/remove cat for this as it can skew results. (removing cat will also diagnose it as potenial problem)
AFM adjustment. should have been done and should be marked.
All these things should be done anyways, but I wouldn't go making major changes until you've checked them all. This way you establish the baseline/bench market to make changes from.
As you did put the motor together this shop did you probably don't know if head/block milling was compensated for with head gasket, this can effect timing thus idle but before I'd go down that road I'd start from the simple to the most complex.
Hopefully Abe will chime in as he is very knowledgible about these engines.
