Stories about why we love our Yotas

I know why I love my Yota but why do you guys love yours? Sure, theyre reliable, beasts offroad, better than Heeps (sadly she is a Heep owner but that will change), etc but why do you really love it?

It has been fairly warm in Boone (until today when it started snowing) so naturally Ive been driving topless in my 87 4runner. One night I wanted to go watch the stars where the light wasnt a problem. I asked my friend/neighbor to come out. Surprisingly she said yes. We ended up out on the Blue Ridge Parkway (very popular scenic drive) at a lake watching the stars. Somehow we ended up staying out there all night... it got cold and we got close and then the next night I got my courage together and asked her out. Nothing risque here, just a lucky guy who is very appreciative of his 4runner.

So lets have it YT members, show some love for your vehicles!

Well all the reasons you listed above, but I'd have to say one of the main ones is I rolled my '90 4runner, pulled it back over with my Tundra, and then proceeded to drive the 4runner 100 miles to my dad's shop where I pulled the drive train and put it in another '90 4runner. Plus I love arguing with all of the Ford guys at my work!

2nd gen 4runner

same like bigarms reason with his dad and the license thing, my father used to pick up me and my bro from school, take us cruisin around oahu. I got my license last year and his 4runner got past on to me, I always dreamed of driving a 89-95 4runner or pickup, and plus is was 5 speed v6. while having my license The only thing that made me mad was when an a-hole rammed their Ranger onto the passenger side damaging doors and fender.
Damaged but getting fixedup.
Hang in there 4runner

low miles 54k

Its old, but still is way more reliable then any newer car/truck , way more comfy and built MUCH better then any other truck I have seen. It seems toyota really built things to be fixed by their owners.... If you have the FSM's, you can damn near rebuild the whole truck top to bottom!

1 ton chassis on a 1/2 ton truck

the tale that comes to this old mind is that my little 93
4x4 w/22re and 31's is one of the very very few trucks that can come out of the local favorite boat ramp here when its all slimed up with river algae

many a big v8 rig has taken a swim at this really steep and slippery ramp. of course my antique boat is very light weight and thats the key to it, to ease down the ramp and not let your chubby boat pull you into the big swimming pool hehehe

im a southern boy and have never been in snow but i did learn from you northern brothers about them screw-in tire studs and if this ramp is really really green ill screw a few in.

best regards, johnny

my story is not from my toy but from my uncles when i was a kid and why i love toyota. when i was maybe 8 my uncle had a 4 wheel drive yota. one year we went to the woods to cut fire wood (excuse for the old men to get drunk) well out of 7 trucks the yota was the only one to not get stuck going up this snow covered hill. and it was the only yota there

My 88 4runner is undergoing a major facelift. a work in progress to say the least. (3/4 covered in flat black primer) not very pretty at all. I get more compliments than my father with his 69 GTO. need I say more?

My Toyota goes anywhere, up mountains, through mud, rivers and creeks.. And still gets me home. Even when she's had some stuff break, I've always been able to drive her home.

simply put, I have named mine the "Goat". Because even in stock form, the dang thing climbs like a billy goat. Plus it's cool when you drive a 13 year old truck and all your friends tell you to leave it and your wife to them in your will. That part is true, I swear.

Well i don't know why i like my yota

My first rig which i bought it stock.

It caught on fire,
I fixed it,
the diff bearings went out,
fixed that,
Open diffs and stock gears irradiated me,
fixed that,
ifs irradiated me,
fixed that.
3.0 irradiated me,
fixed that.

Its a never ending cycle of fixing things!

Basically its been a money pit!
It keeps me out of trouble, and it is a good rig now.

Plus they look bad arse, they are reliable, and FUN AS HELL TO WHEEL!

I have a feeling ill be fixing other things as well.
stock birfs,
stock transfercase,
and those wimpy 36" tsls..

i love my truck because its never left me stranded after wheeling....except when i snapped a main leaf. even then i was able to limp it a few miles to a friends house.

I love my Toyota because well, I guess that's all i have ever owned, 2 4runner's and a Pickup. When I sell my truck my friends get all excited and think I sold it to get a Chevy or a Ford, and I have considered it (just for something different) but in the end I fall in love with the yoders. Think wow, why would I want to drive anything else, I know these trucks like the back of my hand, and I have never ever had to fix something in any of them that I needed to go to a garage for. They have never broken down on the trails, and never haven't gotten me home safe and sound. I get laughed at sometimes for driving a small old Japanese truck, but you know what at the end of the day when mud covers more of it than paint does I am the one laughing because I am the only one who made it to hell and back, and my truck is the only one who wants to go back again. I love my truck
