Stock Skid Plate

So, I went to Pick N Pull sunday after noon and picked up a tow hook off a truck ( it was an adventure to pull it off, we used a drive shaft as a breaker bar ) and also picked up a stock skid plate, this was the only one not mangled, but I figured i'd show you all befores and afters of what I did I'd say it came out rather nicely, what do ya'll think? I'll get pictures of it on the truck tomorrow, I need the bolts still. Anyone know what size they are, by the way?

All in all, I'd say it came out really well I used Textured Metallic black paint, but it came out like a dark ish gray color? oh well, loved the color and the skid has a sand paper feel to it.

Mine got a nice fold in the center of it. So right now im making a custom one. I cut off mounting support parts, and im just going to use some thicker steel and remake the skid part.
Anyway, nice find. I like the paint. Does it seem pretty durable?

the paint feels like sand paper, I dont know how durable it might be, first time using it. but the skid plate is stock... it'll fold under the first rock, haha. I just couldn't pass it up for 13.95 haha it'll be a nice little addition to the front of my 4runner.

HOLY BIG PICS BATMAN!!!

downsize them puppies!!! lol

i have a fast connection..and it took a while for all them pics to load lmao

and i thought you said it was MANGLED???..that's not mangled...looks straight as an arrow to me...a little bit of rust...but not mangled in any way...lol

and i used bedliner on my skid..came out nice..and since it's really durable..it doesn't get rubbed off and leave red scrapes (yes under the paint that i put on there before is red??..and yes i was too lazy to sand it down and primer it)...now it just doesn't rub off at all...

im trying to think of other places i can put this bedliner..its some nice durable stuff LOL..definitely gonna have some on the runner ..at least on the lower half..(not the fenders though)...dang M/T tires throwin up rocks and what not..lol

nice color though!!..and nice turkey !

Pics load instantly on mine

by mangled I meant to say the OTHER ones there and this was the only one that was relatively straight... it has a few dents, and i bend the holes back a little with a screw driver.

yeah, I mean its just some duplicolor textured paint... its pretty crap, but looks nice. It wont hold up if its hit once. hah

lol polish it? it would've took forever. the beginning stages of the rust would have taken awhile to get out. it looks really good this way though, i'll come over and show you sometime. I was asking matt, "dude should I just keep it like this and just polish it to death?" but nah, i decided on the paint. it looks good.

well the thing is I didn't wanna spend all that time grinding out the rust spots... covered it with rustoleum primer and hit it with the duplicolor, used a whole can on it. put about 3-4 heavy coats on it.
