I fabbed up brackets to extend the skidplate to fit the "fatlip" bumper using the Tacoma brackets. My friend had some scrap laying around and we just drilled corresponding bolt holes and welded lock nuts onto the upper side of the plates and all done and best of all was free.

Question Mad Max + cool headlight grilles

Hey, Man that's really Mad Max. It's great protection for your radiator from opossum or branches. I'm interested in where you found your headlight grills. Does anyone know where I can pick these up? They really help keep the lenses safe from rocks and it looks trail rated...Do they block any light or get excessively hot? I can't find them on the web? Can anyone help?

My cheap-o mods are my CB w/4' Firestik & quick disconnect, this thing called an Octopus cup holder by the stick shift, shifter seat bushing and socket, wheels found on a forum, lugs found on Yotatech, cargo bar and bed bungee net, tow chain strap and stretch rope, compressor that hooks to battery $25, seat belt fuzzy pads to fight neck chafe, painted inner tail lights with metallic chrome for brighter reverse light (4Crawler Cheap Mod$) then took the paint and hit the skid plate on the front, & a Ron Paul 2008 Magnet

Where can I get headlight grills at?

what is Mad Max? I don't know what that is but the headlight covers are sturdy as hell and I found them in a junkyard on some old yota truck. I looked as well and can't find them anywhere. But thank heavens for junkyards and imagination

I use the same one to power the rear florescent light and a recently added 12v plug.

built a spare tire carrier wednesday. had the the bar, i spent like $8 on hardware and $9 on a locking hitch pin, and $6 on a bike cable and lock for the tire. Now my tire is out from inside where it used to be and i have some room again! Just slide the license plate over so the factory light still lights it up and its visible so im legal.

rain X all your windows before going out mudding and anti fog the inside windows

we have gone out the last 4 days to a friend of a friends land and they have some very wet and muddy trails first 2 nights I could not see out any window but the front and the mud was starting to cloud up it as well.

I had a bottle of rain X that I bought 5 years ago that I had never used thought I would give it a try and it worked great the mud slid right off the front window and the sides had way less stick to them as the nights before.

I also put it on my lights and it helped with no muddy water collecting on them as well.
