Ok, ran it through the 22RE on my '91, runs smoother and seems to rev up faster. Put half the can in the gas tank.
Ran another can through the 3.4 and it also runs a little smoother. Not a huge difference but it is smoother.
The biggest difference was when I put some in the old John Deere riding lawnmower! It is about 14 years old and I have never put any type of cleaner in it. It is running very smooth and seems to be more powerful. Sweet!
Overall I would say worth the investment so far.

Hell, I don't even know where the PCV hose is on the 3.slow. It would take some searching to find it. Either way, it's not going into my engine.
Just a word of caution.

The instructions on the can very clearly say to "SLOWLY pour" it in. (emphasis is theirs)

Well, I used this last night. At least the PVC path.
It did blow white smoke for about 15 minutes, but what it did not do is cure my rough/vibration idle issue.
I poured about half the can into about 1/2 tank of gas. Maybe cleaning the fuel system will help some. Or maybe not, but worth a shot.
Maybe I'll get lucky and get another 1 or 2 mpg out of it.
I'll let you know if I see any results from the fuel treatment side, or any other observations.

definitely pull the MAF if you haven't yet (use carb or TB cleaner). also, you can change the PCV. pull the hose going to the PCV and cap the hose with your thumb and see if the engine runs smoother. if it does then get a new PCV for $3 and replace it. have you replaced the fuel filter. it's about $30 from toyota and can make a big difference in the fuel supply pressure to the injectors if it's old and clogged. i also assume that you've changed the plugs? did you use denso or ngk? that's the only two that i would recommend. make sure they are platinum, two prong.
too bad the seafoam in the intake didn't work for you. maybe try a strong dose to the tank like i did to clean the fuel rail and injector bodies...
good luck.

I guess cleaning the MAF is on the list, as well as checking the plugs out. Although they were replaced ~25k miles ago. Fuel Filter needs done too.
Just so many things to check/clean/replace. . .

I think DrummerDave and I may have similar idling problems. So, I am reading this thread very intently. I will try cleaning the MAF, replacing the PCV, and pouring a half can of seafoam in the gas tank for the injectors

Bamachem, Thanks for inspiring me to do the seafoam treatment! I've used it for years as a fuel addative but have never tried the injector trick. The runner is due for a tune-up and deserves a little TLC.

no problem. anything that can help with MPG's is a good thing.
lol... adding it the tank IS cleaning the injectors. adding it to the PCV hose cleans the AIR intake plenum and intake valves. lol

drummer,
correction to what bama advised re cleaning MAF w/ throttle body or carb cleaner: do not use either. use an electronic wire 'contact' cleaner to clean the MAF wire sensor.

To add to what Bob said, they changed the design of the MAF for '99+ models. '96-'98 have the type that is inside a little plastic "bulls-eye" looking shell, where the '99+ is the exposed-wire type (I think...).

on the can of sea foam it says that it can be put into the crankcase with the oil. Um i woudnt know if it would help, and i cant imagine it being good for the parts. I could see it being good if you were to run it in there for 5 minutes then change out your oil afterwards. Lemme know
thanks
