Posted this in my bearing thread but I'm impatient and want faster answers...since today is payday and I was going to order a t-case rebuild kit but if this is my problem I'll save my money...

Maybe a stupid question, but I just noticed today that if I push my clutch fork forward by hand, the slave cylinder takes a long time to push the rod back out. So if I compress the rod, it doesn't spring back out, it just slowly works it's way back to putting pressure on the clutch fork. That's not ok, is it? Obviously while it's working its way back out, the clutch fork is loose, wobbling around. Not sure if this situation would happen during normal driving conditions, but...makes me think there may be times when I'm driving around, and the clutch fork is loose.

I was just under there messing around trying to locate a noise, and noticed this.

Mine does that. Funny too, cause I JUST looked at that thing the other day. The fork itself is just held in place by a little clip on that nipple. The rod on the cylinder came back to where I pushed it from within a few seconds though.

That IS funny. Ok, so that's normal. Looks like I will buy the transfer case rebuild kit then. Thanks!
