Redline Hood lift

Just finished installing my redline hood lift, only took about an hour to do. It works awesome. So much nicer not having to use the prop! This is definately a must have mod if you haven't done it yet! Will have pics to coming soon

That's one mod I'd love to install, but I've not been able to find one that works on a 2nd gen 4Runner. Does anyone know why a 3rd gen kit wouldn't fit, or if I could take the necessary parts off of an older Saab or other car equipped with factory hydraulic lift struts from the factory?

Andy.

I would go look at a 3rd gens hood and compare it to your hood, or just contact redline.

My '90 truck has Rancho hood lifts on it. I think I got them from the Performance Products catalog, years ago. It doesn't look like they are available, anymore.

Too bad, mine are still working great, about 15 years down the line!

The Ranchos are not available anymore. I contacted them trying to find them a year ago for my rear lift gate. Those Redline ones seem to have a pretty good warranty.

That's what I was gunna say. Get some comparison measurements and we could put together a kit from McMaster-Carr

Exactly, those struts cant cost more than 20 bucks each.. The tabs can be made outta simple sheetmetal.
