I would say it totally depends on what size tire came stock on the truck.
If tires are<30",then:
-Used 31s-$300
-Regear with used diffs-$400
-steel box tubing to fab a rear bumper (with swing-out tire carrier) $300-ish
I go with the rear bumper first because if you smash the front, the panel just unbolts and you can have a new one on for less than $40. If you smash the rear, then you're in for some major welding.
If tires are>31":
-steel box tubing to fab a rear bumper (with swing-out tire carrier) $300-ish
-Addicted Off Road front bumper $375+ship
-Marlin sliders $150+ship
-Spend the rest on any lights that float your boat.
