Help with 22r startup, can't find hose!

Here's a picture. I can't find the hose that connects into the top of the resonator.

I labeled it 3 but I also labeled the hose coming from the brake fluid reservoir as 3 as well and I'm pretty sure it connects down in under the carb b/c they both smell like gas (don't ask me how I figured that one out). The fitting under the carb lost its paper tag.

Any help would be appreciated. Hope to get this turning over by tonight!

I'm stupid, the hose plugs into the air cleaner. New problem, though.

The engine turns over and will start with the aid of carb starter and then dies. Oil pressure is good as well. I pulled the plug on the fuel pump and it's not pumping when the starter is rotating the crankshaft. I'm thinking I reversed some hoses or something...

And the order of who has contacted regarding the roll bar is:

Let me send a 2nd pm to olharleyman, a pm to Chapman88SR5, and then I will let you know. Thanks

You may have crossed the hoses where they connect to the lines at the bottom from the fender the the engine. One is a return hose and does not pickup any fuel. That will cause that problem.

My814x4, that's what I really suspected but when I compared them to my neighbor's truck they looked identical.

Now that I think about it, though, the truck really runs about the same as when I bought it (I could only start it using carb starter fluid). The previous owner had the carb rebuilt back in mid 2005 and then let it sit pretty much until now. That means the carb probably needs some adjustments? I've never owned a car with a carb before so I am really ignorant. I'm thinking of just replacing the fuel filter tomorrow just to rule that out. The one thing I do know is that the fuel pump is not pumping fuel. Anything else that I can try? What's the chance that a vacuum leak could be causing all of this?

I would say try a fuel filter first, fuel pump maybe bad?,check fuel lines for any cracks or splits.
