Dry ice…..my new best friend! works wonders for removing sound deadener

So I went and bought $40 worth of dry ice pellets yesterday. I spread them all over my floor pans…wait 10 mins and chipped out the factory sound deadener in about another 10 minutes. I have come to love dry ice….best $40 I've ever spent!!

I have heard it works great for that. Probably cleaner to remove it that way as well.

Red face

I am much to cheap to spend money like that!!

I just wait to a comfortable day in the winter hit it with a scraper on the air hammer and it peels right off.

I had a bad episode with Dry Ice a few years ago never again!!

son of my wife's coworker was being a teenager one day and got arrested and charged for this (was maybe 14-15). after school they went down to the park nearby and were doing this and simply being kids in an empty park. for whatever reason a cop came by - 2 kids ran away and the other, being raised as a responsible honest kid (awesome teacher's son), decided to stay and talk to cop about it being harmless stuff kids do. cop pulled his gun, had his ass cuffed and on the ground - dragged him into jail and didn't notify his parents until the next day, when they proceeded to tell them he was being charged for manufacturing of explosives and a few other misc things. oh the stuff i used to do as a kid...

I cant get dry ice locally so I waited until winter to do mine. I just waited until the weather was in the 30s, took a hammer and beat around the floor some and then used a pry bar. Came up easy compared to doing it in 80 degree weather with no dry ice lol.

i just found out about freezing sound dead panels I pulled my cab off just before winter and started the messed up process of getting metal in shape
I set the cab off outside till spring it was 20- for a good part of winter when I got back to it in early summer most of the tar like material had just fallen off the back of my cab
I'm going to leave it out again and hope for a bad winter lol
Finally something in this build was free lol
