Dropped socket in 3.0l

Hey guys while reinstalling my head tonight on my 3.0 my dad was torquing the head bolts down on the #1 cyclinder side and dropped the socket in the back passage towards the back of the cam. We tried everything in my garage to pull it out never succeeded. What would be the chances of pulling it out and where does that passage go?

That hole drops straight down, through a hole in the baffle plate, to the oil pan.

I have attached a small magnet to the end of a coat hanger to make a pick up tool. This offers more flexibility than your standard telescoping magnetic pick up tool. Now there are the camera probes you can buy to do inspections in difficult to access places...I was wondering if one of the camera probes would be helpful to inspect the timing chain guides on a 22R.
